Question 1

Can GPS location be spoofed?

Accepted Answer

Yes, with mock-location tools, and no camera app can honestly say otherwise. GeoCliks records the accuracy radius with every fix and pairs the location with a verified time and a street address, which raises the cost of faking a visit without reducing it to zero. The practical point is that the record can be checked by someone other than the person who took it.

Question 2

What if there is no signal on site?

Accepted Answer

Capture works offline and the photos upload when the phone is back in range. The phone uses the clock offset it last measured against our servers, trusted for up to 24 hours, and checks its clock against a hardware counter that settings cannot change. A clock moved while offline gets the photo flagged.

Question 3

How close does “on site” need to be?

Accepted Answer

Close enough that the address stamped on the photo is the job's address, and the accuracy radius is small next to the property. Outdoors a phone usually gets a fix within a few metres; inside a building it can be much wider. Read the radius along with the coordinates, and put the house number or site sign in the arrival shot so the photo shows the place as well as stating it.

Question 4

Does this prove the work was done?

Accepted Answer

No. Verification shows that a specific file was captured at a stated time and place and has not changed since. It does not prove the work was done properly, that a caption is right, or that a court or insurer will accept it. Those decisions are made under rules no app controls.

Question 5

Does the client need an app or an account?

Accepted Answer

No. A share link opens in any browser, and a photo code can be checked at geocliks.com/verify with no account, no app and no sign-in. Share links come with the Plus plan and above; the photo code and the verification page work on every plan, including Free.
